Just a quick e to say that all is well here aboard Curious after the japanese earthquake and subsequent Tsunami.

Once again many thanks to all friends and family that sent e mails and telephoned to ask if we were OK.

Waves of around 0.5m hit the coast of NZ and surges were felt for about 24 hours in the marina but no damage was done.

Thankfully unlike the Indian Ocean tsunami there seems to have been little impact on the surrounding silands in the Pacific.

The pictures from Japan are heartbreaking and the estimates for the loss of life looks like it increase dramatically over the next week or more.

Our hearts go out to those directly affected and to the people of Japan as a whole.

We can only wonder at the forces required to cause such devastastion and why there seems to be so much tectonic plate movement over the last few months.
