With fresh veg, bread, etc running short we have sailed NW 72nm to Mackay on the central coast of Queensland.

Last nights anchorage was pretty spectacular with Curious nestled under the steep cliffs on the east coast of Little Percy.

This anchorage is very rarely used as it is exposed to the SE trade winds but with winds in the SW and the swell coming in from the NW the usual anchorages were very uncomfortable so we had to improvise.

This small bay is very deep until close in to the cliffs but by using the small 15m shelf we were able to get tucked in and slept well in a windless hole under the cliffs.

By contrast we are now in a brand new marina with all the usual boaty facilities as well as large apartment blocks, resteraunts, cafes, etc.

We will reprovision in town tomorrow before moving north once more into the Whitsunday islands.
