The SE trade winds would seem to have kicked in and with a good forecast for the next week or so we have cut short our stay in Cairns and headed north.
We are now averaging 9kts in 20kt south easterlies and 1.5m seas inside the Great Barrier Reef.
The plan is to mix up a few overnight passages with some easier day hops.
It would have been good to spend some more time out on the reef but the anchorages and snorkelling would both have been a bit choppy.
