Curious celebrated her 1st birthday on the 10th April here in Antigua.

It seems incredible that a year has gone by since we commissioned her in Ipswich and we moved aboard having sold our house and cars and given away pretty much everything else.

She has certainly lived up to all our expectations of her. She is very strong and safe, comfortable to live on with plenty of room and all of the modern conveniences that you would find in a land based home.

She has taken us to pretty amazing places, already far too many to list, and our plans for the next year should see us adding to the list still further.

Her birthday now falls in the same month as mine and I celebrated my 56th birthday by racing Curious in the Oyster Antigua Regatta along with Trish, Yann, Katie and friends Adrian and Helen.

As well as some nice cards and presents, Katie had done a long poem in the style of the Walrus and the Carpenter and Chris had sent a happy birthday song via e mail in the style “there once was a mouse that lived on the hill” recounting our sail away plans and experiences to date! Both fantastic and something to be treasured.

Trish had organized balloons, etc at the beach BBQ in the evening and everyone there sang happy birthday to me…..and we finished 3rd in the race after a fabulous days sailing in strong winds and big seas….all in all a memorable birthday.
