We have said many times on this trip that we have been sad to leave some of the beautiful places we have been but this especially so of the Vava'u group of islands and its main town Neiafu. The mix of local people and expats have created a great centre for cruising sailors here in the Pacific with pretty consistant winds giving great sailing inside the reef sheltered waters. These islands have some of the most beautiful coral in the Pacific, a wide variety of fish and the amazing Humpback whales and you have a great cruising area. Add to that the delights of Neiafu, one of the safest and best protected anchorages in the Pacific, a great mix of cafes, restaraunts and bars, Friday night yacht races in the harbour and great dive and whale watching outfits and you have close to a perfect mix.
