We have moved a few miles north to the largest island in the group with the
short passage made in good trade wind conditions and calm waters in the lee
of the islands. Once again the navigation was challenging with numerous
unmarked reefs and shallows requiring constant vigilance.
En route we finally caught a good sized Tuna which, as I type this is being
used in tonight's, Sushi, Sashimi and Red Thai Fish Curry, all expertly
prepared by our stow-aways Toby and Nicole. The best cuts being saved for
tomorrows evening meal.
The anchorage here at Land harbour on the SW corner of the island is well
protected and we are close by some large coral heads that are teeming with
fish of all kinds. A short afternoon snorkel trip gave Trish a number of new
fish to photograph and catalogue, including a Oriental Sweetlips, a large
Star Puffer and a beautiful Semicircle Angelfish.
