Finish Line update
The ARC office tell us that we were actually the 57th
boat over the line and not 60th as shown on the website. Having talked to many of the skippers that came in before
us it seems that most did considerably more motoring than us, in one case
almost 300 hours!!! It will be interesting to see the final positions once
all the boats are in. The smaller boats with less fuel would have had no option
but to sail pretty much the whole way and they will benefit from the final
penalties placed on the bigger boats that motored. As we crossed the finish line Tim Wright who specialises
in yachting photography took some pretty spectacular pictures of the boat as we
screamed across the line at 9.5 knots and at one point I thought we were going
to run him down as he stood in his dinghy, camera in hand no more than a few
metres in front of the boat. __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3688 (20081212) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com |
