Glenn, Chris and Adrian, hereafter known as the “ARC crew”, left us in Camaret to return to their day jobs

leaving Trish and I to sail the boat as double handers for the first time.

The trip down from St Kat’s to Camaret had been memorable with great weather, a mixture of wind conditions from none to 30kts plus.

This allowed us to get used to the boat under all conditions and benefit from Duncan’s knowledge of the boat and also his Yachtmaster

Instructor sailing skills.

We decided to leave Camaret a day earlier than planned to catch the best of weather and tides through the notorious Raz de Sein.

With no wind and flat seas the passage became something of a non event and we hit the passage at exactly slack water.

Unfortunately this meant that we entered the Odet river on the full ebb and mooring to the outside of the visitors pontoon

was something of a challenge, getting off may well be as big a challenge!!

We stayed in Benodet for four days, a very pretty town just inside the mouth of the river before moving on to Lorient from

where we plan to explore the many beautiful medieval towns and villages that are found throughout South Britanny.
