The 49nm passage north from St Kitts was pretty uneventful and St Barts is
very different than the other islands we have visited so far. Very French,
very chic and very expensive. The anchorage outside the main town of
Gustavia proved to be very rolly so we moved on the following day to Anse de
Colombier. A very snug and pretty anchorage that seemed to be full of
turtles. They could be seen surfacing for air or just having a look around
the visiting yachts and also grazing on the sea grass on the bottom. Trish
and I were able to snorkel a few feet above a large turtle as it very slowly
rose from the bottom and silently glided up to the surface. A fantastic
experience.
