Across the equator

We re-crossed the equator at 10.20 local time this morning, making our
offerings to King Neptune for safe onward passage for the second time.
We have anchored for the night in a small passage between two islands,
expecting them to be deserted only to find a small fishing village on each
of the islands. What little wind we have had today has been generated by
large rain clouds and once over the equator the wind switched from SE to NE,
the result of the coriolis effect on the earth's weather and wind patterns.
We will break the last 90nm north to Singapore so as to cross the very busy
shipping channels at the optimum time and return to the 1st world after 3
months cruising some of the more remote islands of Indonbesia.
