It was with some reluctance that we had to leave Cartagena feeling as we did
that there was so much more to see.
But we had to make distance towards the San Blas and ultimately Porvenir by
Xmas to enable Glenn and Heather to catch their flight home on the 26th.
The first step was a short downwind hop across to the Rosario islands just
off the coast of Colombia. These small islands are surrounded by treacherous
reefs and careful eyeball navigation is required, even so the charts
available and the electronic charts all disagreed with each other and we had
to use the help of a dive boat skipper to help get our deep draft boat
through the reefs.
