We had read that there was a WW2 P39 American
fighter plane submerged in 6ft of water on the outer reef of
Navatiti.
Assinadi had offered for her son Waisake and his
friend Sainiana to show us the way across the peninsula.
 The track through the jungle and grassy areas led
us to Clara's house and from there we could walk across the shallow
sand flats almost to the wreck.
 The fusilage, tailplane and left wing were clearly
visible, as was the V12 engine.
 Once back on the boat the two ads stayed with us
for the afternoon, swimming and diving off the boat
joining us for lunch and watching TV
