The four ARC crew used most of Wednesday to take the boat out in strong north westerly's and fly all white sails including the wing and wing configuration that we will use for much of the time on the crossing.

We returned to our berth late evening and then there was a frantic rush to get ready for the Caribbean Carnival fancy dress party held at the Sotovento club here on the marina.

We had decided to go as carnival girls and Trish and Helen had spent many hours preparing the costumes, complete with bras, skirts and headdresses.

In the event we won first prize in the fancy dress competition and a 150 euro prize.

There is also a fancy dress party in St Lucia and it is going to be difficult finding a costume that is even more outrageous!!

Today will be taken up with more crew preparation and boat checks.
