Another busy day
After the previous nights fancy dress party a bit of a
lie in was required to recharge the batteries. But the “to do” list still seemed endless so
we had to keep ticking things off if we were to be ready for Sunday’s
start. Having damaged my shoulder when we arrived here I had
been putting of going up the mast to clean and check the rig, particularly as
the team from Formula Spars who had made the mast and boom had already been up
and given the rig a clean bill of health. However I wanted to check for myself and also familiarise
myself again with how and where all the halyards run in case I need to go up
again on the crossing. It was also a good opportunity to take photos of the
other boats from up top and as you can see those below where taking shots of
me. With 16 Oysters in this years fleet and four Oyster 56’s
like ours it made for some great shots We also had to complete our wall painting of the boats
Walrus and Carpenter logo and here Helen’s artistic ability proved to be
a great asset and the finished logo is admired by all who see it and will
remain on the wall for many years to come. It was well deserving of a celebratory drink!!...I’ll
explain the duck’s presence another time!!!! Today is another sailing day to run through MOB routines
and fly the big cruising chute, wind permitting! __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3629 (20081121) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com |
