Just another day in Paradise
The ARC boats continue to arrive through the day and
night and all are assured of a warm welcome, rum punch and the Steel band man
when they arrive. A German boat Ohana finally arrived yesterday having slowed
down for two days to allow another boat, Yara, with a diabetic aboard who
insulin supplies were running low, to catch up so that they could pass over
some of their own diesel so that the Yara could motor in the wind lulls. In the
event the German Skipper of Ohana Holgar Wimmel, arrived just after dark and on
his birthday. The dock was lined with the crews from other boats to give them a
very warm welcome and all boats sounded their foghorns. Trish and I took the opportunity to go off sailing for a
day (you'd think that I'd had enough of it for a while) down to the Pitons on
the west coast. A beautiful area with tree lined slopes and two huge pointed
peaks rising sheer from the sea. It was also good to be set sails and go to windward on
the way back! __________ Information from ESET NOD32 Antivirus, version of virus signature database 3702 (20081218) __________ The message was checked by ESET NOD32 Antivirus. http://www.eset.com |
