Dolphins, Dolphins, Whales and Rays

The trip down from Dominica to Bequia was notable for the number of dolphin sightings and on a couple of occasions the number of dolphins in the Pod. (is that the right term?)

We have also seen at least two, possibly three types during the passages but as they move so fast it is difficult to get good close up shots that would enable us to confirm the type.

On the SW corner of Dominica we also saw a couple of Pilot Whales but as yet have not sighted the Sperm or migratory Humpbacks that this area is noted for.

We are now anchored in Port Elizabeth on Bequia and when returning from a dinghy trip ashore we spotted two large rays making a lot of commotion on the surface in the bay. Very unusual behaviour but perhaps this is their mating season?

Here are a couple of good dolphin shots taken by Katie (sorry no whales as we saw them when trying to handle 30 knot winds with gusts up to 38 knots.
