Singapore - Love it or hate it

Singapore is some people's idea of heaven, well run, orderly, relatively crime free,
with no graffiti and no litter (there's a S$1000 fine for littering) with lots of green, wide
open spaces 
There are good schools, a very good standard of living, a easy going multi-racial,
multi-cultural society.  If you must live in a city then you can do a lot worse than Singapore
However for others it's their idea of hell, a benevolent version of George Orwell's
1984, mile after mile of apartment blocks, high rise commercial buildings and shopping
malls.
Clarks Quay is one of the quirkier parts of the city
