The islands that make up the Wakatobi group are
designated an international marine reserve, throughout the
islands wardens collect Turtle eggs from the
beaches, these are usually ones that are displaced by other female
turtles whilst laying and burying their own eggs in
the sand
They are placed in a
sand hatching boxes which recreate natural conditions, once hatched they are transferred to bowls of
sea water where they are fed finely chopped
fish
  These lovely little creatures are hand
reared through various stages until they are ready to be
released   They have to be this big before they are able
to survive in the wild, where hopefully the live a long and happy
life
