The trade winds kicked in with a vengeance and the 20 to 25 kt winds turned
into 30 to 35 kts with guts in the 40's and one gust of 54kts.
This made for some pretty fast sailing with 285nm covered in 33 hours.
The protection offered by the Barrier reef helped make the passage bearable
and the constant shipping traffic kept things interesting.
WE are now anchored in a very large but shallow bay and will catch up on
some sleep before we continue north tomorrow.
