Kiwis just love old cars, motorbikes, tractors, etc. This one was seen in Geraldine but we saw many more as we toured around peaking in Franz Josef and Fox Glacier

Trish had promised to pat the sheepdog memorial on the shores of Lake Tekapo, a tribute to the breeds part in developing sheep farming in NZ

NZ has a rich gold mining history, this is Cromwell, one of many old gold ruch towns.

There is a hige difference between the mountains on the east side of the great divide and those on the west. Barren, dry and dusty hills here in Otago.

Sheep still play a big part in the economy of south island and there is in the order of 50 million sheep in NZ

Naseby, another old gold rush town with many of the original buildings still intact.

More sheep, more rolling hills and more empty roads en route to Dunedin.

Dunedin has a strong historic link with Scotland and the early Scottish immigrants wanted to build a New Edinborough. This is the station building.
