Our plan to motor through the narrowest part of the ITZC worked well and
after 24 hours we passed through only to find very light southerlies that
forced us to continue with the engine for a further 13 hours before we
finally hit some decent sailing conditions. We now have 10knot southerlies
and are making a direct line for the Galapagos Islands.
Since leaving the Las Perlas islands we have not seen another vessel of any
kind with only sea birds and fish for company.
Our attempts at catching fish for dinner remain unsuccessful probably due to
moving along at 8knots and over. We will try again today.
