On 16 December we left Eleurethra for the Exumas, heading for Highbourne Quay. A good sail with the wind almost dead aft.

We crossed  under a poled genoa and a prevented mizzen. We arrived at the reef off the cay about 1300, strong current flowing through the channels but we were anchored safely in 5m water by 1340, in the lee of the island.

On the 17th we spent most of the day onshore, cycling round the island and using their resort wifi at the cost of a drink and lunch.

Today, 18th, we had planned to sail down to Warderick Wells, but the wind remained strong so we decided to stay in what seems a secure anchorage rather than risk problems in a  very narrow shallow channel picking up a mooring in 25 knot winds! Plan to head down tomorrow when wind is forecast to abate somewhat.
