Well we've been weather bound in Bundaberg for the
last week--blowing like stink from the south-east--the direction in which we
want to go. But the forecasts indicated that by this morning the wind would
back to the east and moderate, so off we set.
The first 20 miles were a bit unpleasant--seas
still rough and more wind than forecast--we had to motor sail as still a lot of
south in it. But then the wind backed and moderated and we had a decent sail
through Hervey Bay and into our anchorage for the night--Kingfisher bay on
Fraser Island.
Having set off at 0600, we anchored after a 55 mile
trip at around 1530--then a late lunch/early dinner and ashore for a walk with
Pete & Marge from Peregrina. Back on board, and doing the blog--though there
seems to be a problem with mailasail so don't know when it will be
sent!!
