Subject: Crossing the Equator

At 0655 this morning we crossed the equator, heading north. Our second sea crossing of the equator--last time heading south to Galapagos was over 18 months ago. So we're now old hands at equator crossing.
We held off celebrating until we were safely anchored around 0930--when we celebrated with a rathewr early G&T!
All this at the end of a 50 hour passage from Serutu Island to Kentar Island, as we make rapid progress towards Singapore. Two nights at sea, and now we will spend a night at anchor to rest.
Kentar is a small fishing village. A couple of boats of villagers plus lots of kids came out to visit us--and traded their fruit in exchange for T-shirts, books, pens etc. Nice people, very simple. But so far no fish so we'll need to get something out of the freezer.
And no more night sails before Singapore!!
