An uneventful 24 hours—though found the genoa inhaul is chafing and will need replaced, together with some adjustments to the roller, in Chagos. Another item for the work list which includes
servicing both generator and engine.
The desalinator is still producing good water, almost to spec quantities, despite the leaking seal. I hope this continues—but I don’t trust it! In the meantime I’m keeping the tanks topped off—another
hour of watermaking this morning. The leaking water is not doing any damage, and I don’t intend to take the top off the machine unless it fails---as long as it makes water, I’ll leave alone.
So little to report really. Let’s talk about food!! Big events of the day. Well our fresh fruit has done pretty well. We still have enough fresh fruit for breakfast for another couple of days. The fresh veg. is
also still going, though we’ve had to chuck some over the side. Today we’ll have salmon out of the freezer---it was chicken yesterday---so we can clear freezer space for the fish we intend to catch
over the next couple of days before we arrive in Chagos---a nice Mahi-Mahi or Tuna would be grand!!  I’ll let you know how we get on! And Ger is already planning our celebration dinner for our
arrival in Chagos, planned for the morning of the 31st. —the champagne will go in the fridge on the 30th
