We've been in Port Vila for 6 days--one of which was spent in a hire car looking round the island. Port Vila is a mixture of modern and aged. Bon Marche is a well stocked supermarket, the local fruit/veg market is good, there are high end resorts and good restaurants--but at prices more like Europe than third world. Yet the drive round the island shows how poor many are--a third world feel. But happy and friendly.
We've fixed the autopilot--the old one--in the meantime we ordered a new one from Oz, which should arrive tomorrow--if so we'll sail up to Epi island for a couple of days of sea, sand and swimming before we set off for Oz. Time to get away from the high life!!
All is well
