Day 6 and still we've not had sight of another
vessel since we left Galapagos!
But the sailing remains good in sunny weather. Took
reefs in last night as wind got up to 20 knots--and the reefs are still in as we
trade conservatism for speed. Progress to date has been unexpectedly good--we
will make the first thousand miles tonight. We'll celebrate at lunch
tomorrow!
Still no fish--except the flying fish landing on
deck--3 last night, one of which landed straight into the cockpit with a
thud--gave me quite a fright.
Sun still shining and all is well. The debate now
on board is turning to where we go in the Marquesas.
