We arrived at the marina in Mindelo mid afternoon on the 10 December— the only marina in the Cape Verde’s so nice to plug in and walk ashore after some time on passage and on the anchor. That said, the marina is a bit bouncy!
So we spent a few days chilling, doing the heavy provisioning—water, beer dry and frozen foods etc—and in the evenings eating in restaurants with live music—-these islands and Mindelo in particular are known for their music! On the 15th we took the ferry to Santo Antao and did some mountain hiking staying for a couple of nights in a guesthouse. It’s a spectacular island with amazing mountain formations created by ancient volcanic activity.
Plan to set off across the ocean later this week.
