We left Makemo atoll on the 3rd after a relaxing 3 days anchored off lovely beaches with palm treees miles from the nearest habitation--lots of corals for snorkelling and large pools when the tide was out where you could wade amongst corals, reef fish, small black tip sharks--up to about a metre--swimming around your ankles!

A sail overnight and we entered the southern pass of the Fakarava atoll around 0800 on 4th, anchoring off the small village at the pass. And there we found a small "pension" which laid on a dinner for us last evening--12 of us--in their restaurant--a shack built out over the water, with corals, small sharks, Napoleon fish, lots of other activity below the restaurant floor. So we've decided to stay another day here--then we'll need to move as due in Tahiti on 10th.
