Michael Hughes and Ger White

Collected our first flying fish from the deck this morning--all 2 of them--decided against eating them and gave them a decent sea burial. So far they're the only fish we've "caught". In fact the first one came in yesterday evening as we sat in the cockpit--hitting the screen just behind Ger's head with a great thud--clearly dangerous to stand in the open at night.
Continued good progress, though the wind has the nasty habit of varying up and down--let alone the squalls--so one minute we're travelling at 7 knots and a few minutes later at 4 knots with the sails flapping. But we cope.
Expect to cross the half-way stage tonight--but far too late for a celebration--we'll do that tomorrow.
