Set off from Madeira on Friday--lovely sail for the first 24 hours or
so--at that stage well up on my estimated overall passage time of 48 hours
for the 270 miles. However the wind then started to drift away and
eventually--after persevering for some time--it was on with the iron sail.
Two spells of motoring for a few hours and a relatively slow sail
overnight saw us into Lanzarote about 1100 this morning. All in good shape
and we return to the UK for about 3 weeks on Thursday.
