Much enjoyed Moorea. We spent most of our time there anchored in Cook's Bay--beatiful setting but not such great swimming--so we also sailed round to the next bay--only a 5 mile trip--for a couple of days in a quiet anchorage behind the reef--beautiful clear turquoise water, lovely swimming and snorkelling--from there we also dinghied roud to an area where rays come to be hand fed each morning in waist deep water--so we swam with the rays--and quite a few black-tip sharks which come along for the goodies--the sting rays actually swim right up to you, look you in the eye, enjoy being tickled!!
Enough of Moorea--yesterday we set off for an overnight passage to Raiatea--120 miles--arriving this morning at 0800. We've hired a car for a couple of days, to see the island--boat moored in the marina--and on Tuesday (Monday's a holiday) the sailmaker based here is looking at our genoa---don't know what he'll say!!
So all well, and we've clocked up another 120 miles of westing.
