Sind gestern Abend beim letzten Tageslicht in Quepos aufgeschlagen. Bzw., wir haetten noch Tageslicht gehabt, haetten unsere netten Ankernachbarn in Bahia Drake uns nicht darauf aufmerksam gemacht, dass die Uhren in Costa Rica anders ticken als in Panama :-)
Und somit wird es schon gg. 18 Uhr dunkel. Sind nach ca. 10 Stunden und 52 Seemeilen mit langen Motorstrecken in Quepos angekommen.
Unser backbord Motor sprang nicht an - schon wieder Probleme mit dem Startermotor.. Zum Glueck konnten wir das am naechsten Tag recht einfach beheben. Einmal auseinandernehmen, Kontakte sauber feilen, alles mit Kontaktspray einspruehen - und es funktioniert wieder! Schoen, wenn's mal recht einfach geht.
Wir hatten noch gar nicht in Costa Rica eingecheckt (Immigration, Zoll, etc.) und hier in Quepos sind die so strickt und lassen uns nicht an Land!
Die Marina hier bietet zwar check-in Service an, dauert allerdings mind. 3 Std., weil alle Behoerden aus Caldera anfahren muessen (Immigration, Zoll, und vielleicht auch noch Gesundheitsamt, ist in jedem Land etwas anders). Wir dachten es reicht wenn wir denen sagen, dass wir das in Puntarenas bei unserem naechsten Stopp machen wollen.
Leider sind die hier sehr pingelig und haben uns ueberhaupt nicht an Land gelassen, nicht zum Gemuese kaufen - Michael durfte sich noch nicht mal aufs Dock setzen...
Ist allerdings nicht wirklich ungewoehnlich, viele Laender nehmen dass mit ihrer Laenderhoheit sehr ernst.
Viel haben wir wohl auch nicht verpasst, denn seit 15 Uhr giesst es - und kein Ende in Sicht. Wird ganz schoen stickig in so 'nem Boot, wenn man die Luken nicht aufmachen kann...
Morgen werden wir wieder die Regenschutze fuer die Seiten im Cockpit anbringen, dann wird dort jedenfalls nicht jedesmal alles klitschnass...
Morgen geht's weiter nach Jaco/Bahia Herradura. Vielleicht haben wir da auch wieder Internet.
Und hoffentlich hoert's bis dahin auch auf zu Regnen :~/

English:
We had 2 relaxing days in Bahia Drake. Only went for a little hike because of Michael's back, but very enjoyable. The jungle is lush and full of life. Saw several pairs of beautiful, big bright red parrots (laras?), a monkey, and a baby boa constricta. Definitely have to come back in December and hopefully with a fully back in shape Michael then!
In Drake (named after famous Sir Francis Drake) we met the first fellow cruisers since Panama city and enjoyed each others company the two evenings.
After 52 miles and 10 hours, we arrived to Quepos on Sunday evening. A fisher village with the brand new (and very expensive, docking would have cost us 125$/night!) Marina Pez Vela, a beautiful Naturel Reserve (Parque Manuel Antonio - the guide book says, if you do only one tourist attraction in Costa Rica: This should be it.), lovely snorkeling and big surf beach (is swell is high).
Unfortunately, the swell is just high enough to give us a somewhat uncomfortably rolly anchorage, but no good surf. Not that Michael would have risked it anyway.
After successfully sorting out the problem with our starter motor, we wanted to explore town and get some groceries. However, the security and officials here are very strict, no setting foot on land (not even sitting on a dock at the marina!) without checking in. And it was too late for that anyway. Guess we didn't miss that much, since shortly after, it started pouring rain - and hasn't stopped since. Not really that surprising, since the rainy season has started. Guess we've just been very lucky so far!
It's getting quite hot and uncomfortable inside the boat, without being able to open the hatches. ...
Good job we both are enjoying our books at the moment very much!
Definitely a spot to return to on the way back South.
Hopefully, weather will be better further North! Off to Jaco/Bahia Herradura tomorrow.
