Sailing Again
Anchored in front of Peninsula San Juan del Gozo, El Salvador
24 November 2012
With the high tide at noon, we left the dock and headed for the river mouth. We found the channel through the breaking waves and had almost cleared the last sand bank, when a bigger set came in and a breaking wave washed over the cockpit. There's a lot of water in a wave..
Fortunately, we had stowed most stuff away. Once through the breaking waves, it took a while to rinse and wipe off all the salt water, but then we set sail and enjoyed a lovely turn for almost 4 hours. Just in time for sunset we dropped anchor off the shallow coast line with beautifully lit volcanoes in the distance.
Funny enough, it happened to be almost the same spot where we had stopped coming up in June.
Tomorrow we'll continue to Las Flores.
