It was great to meet up with Michael and Jeanette, who we knew from our Nigeria days. We also did some sight seeing in Jimena de la Frontera and Cadiz.
Having had a very careful look at the weather we decided not to stop at Lagos in Portugal, but head for Vigo, which we thought was in Portugal, but as it turned out we are in Spain. So we wasted time and money buying a Portugese flag and Lonely Planet in Gibraltar, but who knows, they might come in use one day.
Vigo is up a big estuary, about 11 miles, called a Ria. It is very pleasant here, but a bit of a hike uphill to get our daily bread, provisions, coffee shops and restaurants. We are getting fitter....
We have made news friends with cruisers on two British boats who are going in the opposite direction.
Again we had a careful look for a weather window to move on to UK, which turns out to be Sunday, so we have had to ditch plans to hire a car to go to Portugal for a few days. But if we don't take this window we might be here for weeks...
