Astypalea is a wonderful island with many options for anchoring. We only came here because that was the only way we could get a sail the way the wind was blowing. We did have a wonderful sail and have stayed in three different anchorages around the island. We visited the main town by dinghy. And believe it or not, there was a castle on the top of the hill so we had to climb up the many steps to get the view and check out the ruins. The town is very pretty and we had a lovely meal.
We are now doing some boat maintenance in Vathi Bay. Had a meal ashore last night of fresh (frozen) fish. Had the bay to ourselves for most of the day.  Duncan went up the hill to go for a walk.
