Another shitty day in paradise. The day started with a swim before breakfast at around 7.30. Then Duncan started on replacing a bit of teak on the foredeck. I did some laundry, but the machine packed up, so that needed sorting out (which took Duncan away from his job). I then backed some bread and a banana cake (the bananas ripen faster than we can eat them), followed by cleaning the stainless steel in the cockpit. We have just had lunch. When Duncan has finished his job we will go on the beach and do some exploring and snorkeling. We will stay here for a few days to catch up with the list of jobs.
We have enjoyed Fatu Hiva. We walked up to the waterfall and had supper with a Marquesian family on shore (for which we paid). It was excellent food accompanied by the couple singing and playing the ukulele and guitar. A great experience. We had a good sail from Fatu Hiva to Tahuata and saw some pilot whales on the way.
