Another hard day in the office...
We left at three in the morning to get some miles
under the keel before the wind came up, but by seven it was already blowing
hard. It gradually got worse as the day wore on. It got up to 32 kts apparent on
the nose with the waves that come with it. So not much fun, we were not making
much speed. So we decided to go for the nearest sensible bay to find shelter.
What a relieve to drop anchor in a nice place. The wind was still pretty strong
but no waves and the anchor was holding well. We had lunch and relaxed this
afternoon. Had some young men that paddled on a raft to come and see us. That
was after the wind had died after 5 o'clock. We have had supper and will have
some sleep before setting off again at 02.00 while there is little or no wind to
make some miles. Once we are around the corner it should be a bit
easier.
