Mid August we took a break and went to Koh Samui for a few days. It was a four hour drive from Boat Lagoon to the ferry at Donsak, ferry and then a short deive to Bo Phut. We stayed in The Lodge; a small hotel right  on the beach. This was all arranged by our good friend Johnny, who lives on Koh Samui. Unfortunately he was a way in UK at the time. But, honestly, all we wanted was rest, eat and drink. Which we did. It was lovely and restful. We did go out in the car for one day and had a look around the island; stopping at Five Islands Restaurant for a great lunch. Koh Samui is so much more quiet than Phuket.
On the way back we took the "old road" and stopped at Rajjaprapha Dam where there is a lovely golf course; we played nice holes (as Johnny suggested).
We felt refreshed and got back to work again on the boat. A few more coats of paint on the coaming and handrail, amongst other things. I continue with varnishing bits and pieces that we have taken off the boat and Duncan is having a good go at the old stainless steel parts and making them look as good as new.
Meanwhile the local guys have started to lay the teak for the decks and have made the hand rails.
Still some way to go, but we are getting there...........
