Not a great day today; but you can't win them all. It has been very overcast and we have had a few showers today. We went out in the dinghy, but could not find anywhere to snorkel and the only beach we could find was a small one. We did find some more shells though. There are various islands around us but they are almost all mangroves.
We left our last anchorage yesterday morning, after we had some visitors from the village about 3 miles away. We had decided to move on and not go to the village, which, with hindsight we should have done.
We had chosen a group of islands on the chart, hoping to find more places with reefs to snorkel and beaches to explore. We went past a small island with white beaches and two villages on it, but carried on to the next group. We finally found one with a beach and not just mangroves. We ended up anchoring in abut 5 m, in white sand with some grass patches, but more than a mile away from the shore; plenty of swinging room...
Several canoes motored passed and waved but none stopped.
Tomorrow we go for another overnight sail further south.
