It took us about 5 hrs to get to Koh Lipe and into
Thailand. Not enough wind to sail. We did however see a whale shark on the way
very close to the boat. This is the biggest fish in the world and it was
big..
Koh Lipe is beautiful but very touristy.We checked into
Thailand and bought a sim card. We did not stay long and moved to one of
the other islands in the group where we found a nice quiet bay. We explored the
beaches as we normally do. The next day we took the dinghy for quite a long trip
to some smaller islands where the snorkeling was reported to be good. This was
all fine until the tripper boats arrived and we no longer had the bays to
ourselves. The water was very clear, but the coral was not too
great.
We stayed two nights, then made a very early start to go
to Koh Muk 55 miles away.
