We arrived in the Galapagos three days ago now and
finally have some time to catch up on admin. We have been ashore to check in but
that is a bit of a mission. We had to get an agent who we left the papers with.
We got our passports stamped in immigration, that was easy. But paying our $100
per person for the national park was a challenge, which we did manage to
overcome. We visited the Darwin Centre and the tortoise sanctuary where we saw
giant tortoises. So we went on our first tour yesterday: by boat to Isla
Floreana. It was a long trip, but we swam with sea lions and a white tipped
shark. We saw loads of fish in various shapes and sizes in beautiful
surroundings. We also saw the little Galapagos penguins and a large variety of
birds. And some land and marine iguanas (ugly creatures, almost
prehistoric).Tomorrow we are booked on another tour, mainly to see the blue
footed boobies.
