We crossed the equator again, this time during the
night. We are now anchored in beautiful Kanari Bay on one of the Togean Islands.
There are a few simple huts on shore with very few people around, but apart from
that we are on our own. The water is very clear. There are several snorkeling
options. After cleaning the boat and doing some small jobs we went off in the
dinghy to explore the reefs. It was fantastic, lots of different types of coral
and a large variety of fish. Not many big ones unfortunately, that is apart from
the black tip reef shark that came quiet close.
We have made friends with a local fisherman and the
owner of the house we are anchored in front of. They gave us gifts of coconuts
and we gave them tins of food, clothes, etc.
Tomorrow we move on to another island, this we
expect will be more touristy and will be off a small town, we'll
see.
