It has been more than a month since our last blog, sorry..
The only excuse is not having any internet at our new house until today. So we have some catching up to do.
We did manage to do some more work on the kitchen in Salisbury and nearly finished, but not quiet. We also spent more time at Elm Farm to sort out a few problems that had arisen and keep the garden tidy for viewings. We do have a potential buyer now, so fingers crossed it will all go through smoothly.
We also managed to spend some time together with family and friends.
We had an easy flight to Auckland via Bangkok this time. The first couple of weeks we stayed with Ewan and Jemima in their new house. There is still a lot to do on the house, but it was very exciting to be staying there for the first time. It was great to spend time with our grandchildren Stanley and Molly.
Then.. the day finally arrived when we went to our house in the Bay of Islands. We loaded up our newly acquired Subaru, Outback, Ewan's car and his trailer with stuff to get us started in the house.
Ewan spent the first few days with us and we explored the grounds and the surrounding bays.
Since he left we have started on renovating the house: our bedroom was first. There is a lot to do; mainly varnishing.
We met many of our neighbours this weekend. They are a great bunch and very interesting. We'll have fun learning from them for developing our place.
We have been spending a lot of money kitting the place out; it is amazing how much you need when you start from scratch. So there is a lot to do, but we are loving it here and we will just take our time.
