We are two days sail away from Tarakan. Two days of
Indonesian officials, although very nice people, was not our idea of checking-in
to this country. And to be presented with a huge bill at the end of it was very
frustrating. But we are now at another paradise island. We had one overnight
stop on the way, which went without problems. Last night we had the biggest
electrical storm we have had and when that was over, an hour later it all came
back again with strong winds and lots of rain. So not a great night. Today was
very grey and overcast with some rain, so we did not even bother to put the
dinghy in the water and go snorkeling or ashore. We did go ashore with Dick and
Anita (Kind of Blue) and met some lovely local people and lots of
children.
Tomorrow we say farewell to Kind of Blue; they'll go
south along the Borneo coast and we'll go across to Sulawesi. We have had a
great two weeks spending time together.
