We had a long journey going back to Savu Savu from UK. The flight to Nadi, via Seoul went smoothly. We arrived in Nadi in the morning of Friday and took the bus to Suva. This was a four hour trip in a local bus, not too uncomfortable. We could have taken the ferry to Suva Suva that evening, but then we would not have been able to meet up with our friend from long ago in the HongKong days. So we stayed in a hotel and met up with Steve on the Saturday. We booked on the next ferry, which was Monday. We did some sight seeing, visited the Suva yacht club, etc. Then the ferry was delayed until Tuesday and we finally arrive here early Wednesday morning. Steve came with us on the ferry. We will go and visit his village tomorrow.
Sea Topaz was fine, the minor birds liked her too and left a lot of bird shit, but that was soon washed off. There was also a problem with the 24v batteries and that is all sorted. Now we are back with issues on the generator, Duncan is still working on that.
We have a license to visit the Lau Group of islands, of which only a few are issued each season. So we will probably leave here early next week to start our cruising (better late than never).
