After leaving Sarikei we spent another day on the river. We came to a bridge we could not get under so had to make a detour. We arrived at the river mouth after dark and carried on out to sea. We motor sailed for two nights and one day. The sea was gentle, but we had a few thunderstorms. We also had a large group of dolphins on the bow for quite a while, which was wonderful as we had not seen any for a long time. It is always a very special experience seeing them. We arrived safely in Miri and have been here for two days now. It feels a lot longer as we hired a car as soon as we arrived and went off to see and do things. Yesterday we had a great day visiting the Niah Caves, 110 km outside Miri. This was an amazing experience. We walked through the jungle for an hour and then spent three hours wandering through this fast cave system. Most of it was in the dark, so we used torches. Sometimes there was a hole in the ceiling and we would get day light. On the way back the walk way was temporarily blocked by a snake making its way up the stairs.
Today is admin day; getting fuel, water check out with customs etc.
Tomorrow we set of for Kuala Belait in Brunei.
