Well, we have been home for just over two weeks now and our feet have not touched the ground. First we had to deal with some issues on the sale of Elm Farm. On Friday 30th of Sept we went to Wlles for the cremation of Nick McIver, an old regimental friend from the Brunei days. It was good to meet his family again and some friends. On Oct 3 we took the channel ferry to go to Holland for my mother's funeral. We stayed in an Air-B&B in Haarlem, which worked out well as Kirsten and Lanah joined us for a few days. It was a sober, but simple funeral with a good turnout of family, friends and neighbours. It was good to catch up with some people I had not seen for many, many years. We all enjoyed spending time together as a family with Oma's children, grand children and great grand children; she would have loved it.
We had a wonderful cruisers' reunion in the form of a lunch in Wemeldingen in Zeeland. It was great to see Dick and Anita, Drew and Lillie, Rob and Frans.
That day we got the sad news that and old colleague/friend from our Brunei days had died in Holland. We flew back to Holland for the day on Tuesday 11th for Yvonne's cremation. It was nice to meet up with Denis and the children; Steven, Claire and Christopher, who we had not seen as adults.
Now back in Salisbury and back to work on the renovation of the kitchen.
