We crossed the 180 deg line last night, that means
we have travelled more than half way around the world and are again in the
Eastern hemisphere (the same as Europe). Almost on the way home
now...
There has not been much wind, as predicted, but we
managed to sail more than we expected. We are motoring at the moment with blue
skies and flat seas and three knots of wind. The excitement of the day was
seeing a ship come past us (about 2 miles away); so we must be on the right
track for civilisation.
We have radio contact each morning with other
vessels on the Rally to give our position; that at least gives the feeling we
are not all alone on this big expanse of water. Estimated time of arrival in
Opua is Monday/Tuesday. All is well on board.
