After a wet and windy sail we arrived at Craig
Cove, Ambrym. We did not like the anchorage in the windy conditions and sailed
further up the north coast. We anchored off a black beach and relaxed for the
rest of the day. It rained a lot and the wind was all over the place. We did not
have a very restful night and were up very early. We moved to another bay where
there was one other boat of friends we had met in New Zealand. We went with them
by local boat and a guide to a village to see the "Rom Dance". This was very
interesting. Ambrym is also known for their woodcarvings. A gentle walk through
several villages took up back to the beach where the boat picked us up. Tomorrow
we'll move to Makelula Island.
